In 2007 Traralgon Accident Repair Centre was singled out by the Insurance Australia Group (which includes RACV Insurance) to receive its prestigious ‘Victorian Regional Preferred Smash Repairer of the Year’ award.
It is one of only three issued each year (Best Regional, Best Metropolitan and Best Overall) and the award is based on an independent assessment of the businesses performance. Throughout the year random spot checks were made on Traralgon Accident Repair Centre to determine its quality of work, customer relations, preparation of repair quotes, impact on the environment and work with the local community.
According to Traralgon Accident Repair Centre owner, Craig Tanian the assessments were extremely positive. “Apparently, the customers they spoke to were over the moon about the way we treated them.”
Despite that, Craig had considered it an achievement just to receive a nomination for the major award. “Regional Victoria encompasses such a big area and we were up against something like 600 other accident repair businesses with some very impressive operations amongst them. When they announced that we’d won I was dumbfounded – it was very special.”
A spokesperson for the Insurance Australia Group says the award was well deserved. “Not only does it reflect the hard work and commitment that has seen Traralgon Accident Repair Centre reach an outstanding level of performance, it has also set the standard others must now aspire to.”
